Leeds Occupational Health Advisory Service

Leeds Occupational Health Service (LOHAS) has provided advisory services to people whose health was affected by their workplace and people who had exisiting health conditions and needed advice and support in order to gain employment. LOHAS has also provided advice to employers to help them retain and recruit staff with a variety of health conditions.

LOHAS has provided its services without any charge to the recipient, its costs being met by grants. Over the years the source of grants has included NHS bodies, Leeds City Council and MacMillan.

Work should contribute to good physical, mental and social health. If work damages health in any way thought should be given to why this is happening. LOHAS has experience and expertise in examining the relationship between work and health so it can give constructive advice to employees and employers.
